THE schedule of play for the Betway World Cup of Darts has been confirmed, with former champions Netherlands, 2015 finalists Scotland and host nation Germany set to compete on the opening night on Friday June 2 in Frankfurt.

The £250,000 tournament, televised live on Sky Sports, will feature 32 nations represented by two players as they compete across four days at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany in a mixture of Doubles and Singles matches.

The first round will commence on Thursday June 2 with eight matches, including two-time winners Netherlands taking on Russia.

Scotland, the 2015 runners-up, play New Zealand, while two other former finalists, Australia and Belgium, play Germany and Poland respectively as the tournament begins.

The opening night also features Hungary up against Thailand, the USA against the Philippines, Norway's clash with Gibraltar and the Scandinavian tussle between Denmark and Sweden.

The first round concludes with the remaining eight ties on Friday June 3, including reigning champions England's tie with Spain - who claimed victory when the sides met in the inaugural World Cup of Darts in 2010.

Northern Ireland meet Japan, Wales play Finland and Austria face Italy as the remaining seeds open their challenge, while Czech Republic take on China, Greece will make their debuts against Canada, the Republic of Ireland come up against Hong Kong and South Africa play Singapore.

The second round will be held across two sessions on Saturday June 4, with the quarter-finals in the afternoon session of Sunday June 5 before the tournament concludes in the evening session with the semi-finals and final.

I hear what your saying about Wade but I just don't see it happening he'll probably just be shit and Taylor and Lewis will do enough to stay ahead.

I am not defending what klaasen done, the point is he sent a pic of himself to a kid, not whether you believe he did not know her age, mental capacity etc is another argument, and should not have sent it.

physically sexually assaulting someone regardless of age is worse than sending a pic to someone.

The point is mvg is whore visiting 2 faced hypocrite hunchbacked cunt who wont shake hands or move on against klaasen, but will shake the hand and rim a convicted sexual offender,
Sounds worse when you say it like that but what of the context it seems the woman that Taylor fondled were adults not that bothered after the event and drunk at the time, where as Klassen sent and asked for sexually explicit pictures of a disabled child.

Maybe, I'm not sure, try not to let these players personal life's not affect how you think of them on the oche but the fact Klanssen's conviction is about a child I can't seem him in any other way then a fucked up prick and I can't blame Gerwen for thinking the same way especially when he knew the child.

The PDC should have some kind of a single day pre-world cup singles
floor event involving just the players on the non-seeded teams.

Even if it's just for my pleasure only.

Hopefully we will get some needle again during the World Cup of Darts. As Nicholson is not picked for the Australian team, I predict Dyson Parody to cause some entertainment at this years World Cup of Darts.

This was gold last year:

THE new Unicorn Eclipse HD2 dartboard is to be used for the first time in competition at the Betway World Cup of Darts, following the unveiling of the revolutionary new product.

The Eclipse HD2 board will feature ground-breaking technology, setting a new standard for dartboards in look, performance and quality.

Using the finest "Grade A" sisal, the dartboard also features the new Spider2 Radial Wires and Super Thin Bullseye which provide for a seamless playing surface, improved playing areas around the bullseye and the most visually-stunning dartboard ever.

In addition, a new-look invisible number ring also features Injection Moulded High Definition Replaceable Numbers.

The Unicorn Eclipse HD2 dartboard will be used for the first time at the Betway World Cup of Darts from June 2-5, live on Sky Sports, following the new five-year contract agreed recently between Unicorn Darts and the PDC to continue as the official dartboard suppliers.

"We are very excited about our new Eclipse HD board," said Unicorn Darts Managing Director Edward Lowy. "Over the long history of Unicorn and the PDC, we have introduced various iterations of the Eclipse board.

"Each one has been an improvement on its predecessor, and we're convinced that the HD2 will help take the game to the next level.

"It's all about focus and allowing the players to just to focus on what they are so good at doing, which is scoring.

"We've made a dartboard with some key new features; there are no radial intrusions [around the edge], a new bullseye [with] thinner metal - we are freeing up quite a significant bit of the bullseye.

"We're now using an invisible number ring and clear, rotatable numbers - even in different colours if customers want them!

"We have the greatest respect for the players. This is a professional sport and aspiring people look at what's happening on the PDC circuit and want to have a crack at that, and it's only right that the manufacturers, designers and technicians step up to the mark.

"We're very much looking forward to seeing it being used for the first time."

With the young talent coming through there could easily be three new names in the top five

Very true. Jeffrey de Zwaan will explode eventually, you'll see, you'll all see. maybe even Jeff de Graaf will be in the mix, very possibly above Kist at least. Then there is Noppert if he doesn't rot away, who knows. That Justin van Tergouw kid is a longer-term prospect, winning everything in the youth events.

I definitely agree with 1) MvG; 2/3)Benito/Klaasen.
