ooh i like the mist. the book is very good indeed.

anybody who thinks king solely writes horror is sorely mistaken

I'm sure the book was better. At least any large tentacle you imagine won't look so obviously rubber.

They were so naff I wondered if it was supposed to have that b-movie look about it. Might have been the case.

One. The Shining. I don't like his stuff as I think I have said before. I have listened to several audio books.

shining was pretty hard going in places, not quite as much as the tommyknockers though.

I read The Shining when I was still at school. I recall having to keep asking my mother what some words meant. The ending from the book was much better than the film.

IIRC he was literally turning into other people, like shape shifting. There was also a part that took place in the topiary which was creepy and missed from the film.

where the "tree's" shaped like animals came to life? the technology at the time couldnt cope with it.

the later mini series had it in.

the film ends with a picture of him taken at the hotel decades before which i presume was meant to suggest he was a ghost or something.

Oh the end of the film? I got that the mean that he had been taken over by the posh bloke to such a degree that poshy had taken on his form and the picture adjusted to show that.

Actually Misery was good. As was the French and Saunders version...
Hated Shawshank. Wasn't Langoliers one of his?

the langoliers oh yes, nearly three hours long and a bit silly by the end.

if i suggested one of his books to read it would be the long walk, long overdue being made into a film.

I won't read it, so it's not good me saying I will even try. I might have even listened to it as I had many from a guy at work.

Langoliers was fab, but crap. I think I liked the idea of it, being a physics fan and all, the time stuff although a whacky idea was fun. The noise too was spooky, the unknown. As per usual we had to have a 'special' person in there though.
