Post by macca » Wed Jun 15, 2011 8:30 pm

GB84 by david peace, just started this and i thought this would be right up my street ie a sympathetic view of the miners strike written by an acclaimed storyteller "the dammed utd" but 100 pages in and i am losing the will to live bloody hell its hard work.
Believe it or not I look forward to your posts. I admit I was having a bad day, don't we all sometimes?

i was going to start this thread the other day as it happens.

im reading andy mcdermotts second novel still, a bit bogged down in military action and seems to have forgotten what the plot is supposed to be.

Just started "The Pines" by Robert Dunbar.
A horror book (as usual!) - started off ok (but the print is feckin' tiny!) combining "Deliverance"-style inbred yokel stuff with the Jersey Devil legend. Apparently a "modern horror classic", we'll see......

Does reading on a screen actually affect the eyes? Or is that just a myth?
