am i alone in not liking this franchise?

never been a fan or watched many.

mrs got the box set for xmas so has been watching them back to back.

cliche ridden, preposterous nonesense, just don't see the appeal.

they are not meant to be comedies, if they were fair enough.

lets face it he is the worst secret agent in the world, captured om average 3 times per film.

A load of shit,

It represented everything i hated about the shit english " look at us " culture growing up.
It was like this crap was being forced upon people to show brit movies could compete with the american market in terms of action and the fact was and still is for the most part brit action movies are utter utter shit.

The brits do however make the best drama's in my opinion, and plenty other genres are also exception but action movies and comedy films were never the forte of britain.

I would put james bond movies alongside other shit like the carry on movies in the worst series of movies EVER produced total shit, hated them as a kid and would never want to see one every again.

the shit one with grace jones? hes meant to be a secret agent, the bloke looks him up on his acorn electron computer?

i find myself shouting at the screen, forget the guided tour, giving him your entire plan, just shoot the cunt!

there all funny, for all the wrong reasons.

its more the fact they are considered to be action/spy films that puzzle me.

Noisy has this right in my opinion as the scripts are in the main absurd but do entertain
When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

I think the British make superb drama as mentioned, the bbc and ITV have done some of the greatest shows, from crime, drama , comedy etc, brit movies tend to suck in most departments,

The worst of all are the so called brit ganster movies, with the odd exception, all the others that have second rate ex eastender actors prancing about saying you "fackin cunt" dozens of times, some anorexic bitch flashing her flat chest they are woeful.

What other country would have Danny Dyer portrayed as a hardman ??? Seriously, Danny Dyer are you fuckin kidding me ?
My old man would batter him, and he is 70

maybe i look to deeply into them, they just seem ridiculous to me within the genre they are meant to be.

you may have a point, i presume the recent ones are not quite so cheesy?

the pile of shit she had on last night would never have been made under any other circumstance than the bond franchise.
