short story wise the only thing king has done better than the toy soilders was the long walk, not been made into a film though.

the good wife is being made into a film as we speak, keep an eye out for that, excellent.

apt pupil is worth a look as well.

it is very very rare a remake is anything near the quality of an original, not that total recall was even a classic

Just back from the cinema, i watched Dredd 3D. Thoroughly enjoyable, provided you like violence, blood, explosions and the slow motion camera work in 3D is immense, seeing a fat guys belly wobble after being shot made me chuckle. Bit of eye candy in the form of his partner ( Olivia Thrilby) , and the lovely Lena Headley plays the bad guy. bit of a crack whore in this so looks a bit rough but still dooable. Dredd, played by Karl Urban, is fantastic, really puts Stallone's effort to shame and fills the character brilliantly.

Overall id give this 8.6/10

I didnt know they were making a reboot until i passed a billboard saying it was out this month. I tend to find that movies that are overhyped and over promoted are generally shit (Prometheus for example). Dont get me wrong there isnt a complex story to follow, but if you like violence and none of the cheesy shit that was in the original then its definitely worth a watch
