After a conflab with my mates the name Taylor come up Either Roger, John or possibly Bob or even Andy.

I think it was Bob Taylor but I was out voted lol

Bob Taylor yes, correct but not pointless.
Famously came onto the field to keep after the England keeper was injured in a test match.
May have been Bruce French he replaces.

Indeed it was, at Lord's in 1986 after the new Zealand captain allowed him to replace the injured French.
