Putting money ahead of playing in the majors
You can't think they are short of money anyway

But there are rumours that Mickelson is being paid $200m, Johnson $150m...

LIV players' status for each major

US Open: The USGA confirmed this week that LIV players are eligible for the U.S. Open. The statement was sure not to endorse the rogue tour, but said, by their entry standards, those eligible will be permitted to play, for now.

The Open Championship: It’s a safe bet the R&A will follow the USGA’s lead and allow eligible players to participate, while denouncing the LIV operation, but nothing is official as of now.

PGA Championship: PGA of America bylaws say entries must be part of a recognized Tour. As of now, it’s understood that LIV probably doesn’t fit the bill, thus, those players on the outs with the PGA Tour are not members of a recognized tour, and thus ineligible for the PGA Championship.

Masters: This is the big, big question, and rumblings are out there that word from Augusta National Golf Club could be coming sooner rather than later regarding the status of LIV players for the Masters. This is seen as one of the last lines of defense for the PGA Tour’s counter-strike.
