Why Cormier?

Too much of a company man. I also find him annoying as a commentator.

Fair enough, think he gets stuck on a narrative and follows it too much despite what's happening sometimes on commentary. I like him because of his fighting career mainly, I don't think i've ever been more invested in a fight and built up than his rematch v Jones. Seeing Jones getting knocked out by someone who wanted it so much would've been amazing, and he was fighting so well till he got caught with the kick, I was gutted.

I think he's a good guy overall, had some shit in his life to deal with

Aye, Rogan is also guilty of following a narrative and sticking to it as well. However, I mainly just find Cormier overbearing and unfunny.

I'm not sure if Cormier is so much of a good guy either. For example, I recall him insulting Jones's wife's "flat body" on Twitter. I mean insult Jones all you like, he's a scumbag, but was there really a need to insult Jones' wife who had presumably done little to him?

I forgot to add that Cormier's camp (AKA) doesn't train smart. The trainers work their fighters too hard, which leads to injuries and shortened careers. Cormier is somewhat responsible given that he is the camp's wrestling coach. A journalist once observed that Cormier's wrestling practices were especially taxing on the fighters bodies.
