waterfords first win against them in 58 years
So, are Kilkenny actually out of it now, or is there another back door route available?

OUT

That was their backdoor effort.

Cork after winning the muster title are in the All Ireland semi finals.
Galway are in the other semi final

Waterford now play tipperary, and since both are undefeated, the winner plays wexford for a place in the semi final
The loser of waterford and tipp plays clare for a spot in the semi final

So it is possible there could be 3 munster teams in the all ireland hurling semis

Way to drag things out!
How have Cork won the Munster title if Tipp and Waterford are undefeated?

Is it not a knockout tournament anymore?

Very confusing.

They'd be better off just getting rid of the provincial championships altogether.

Make it a nation wide comp, group's of four, top 2 from each group go through, then straight knockout.

Simples.

Ireland has 32 counties.
Its fucking ideal for a straight 32 comp.

But you must remember this is the GAA, they appear to act stupid, they want people to think there are amateur simpletons, much like the bdo

The truth however is far more different, the GAA are experts at corruption, these bastards make the mafia look small petty and amateur.
The GAA have come up with a convoluted way to make sure all the bif teams with huge support get more than one bite at the cherry.

Yesterday over 30 thousand cork fans alone went to thurles for the match.....and no one gets paid.
This year the GAA will have a total attendance at their games higher than what Man Utd will get for an entire season, counting fa cup and europe.
Man Utd can pay out 6 figure weekly wages and still be in profit.

The GAA pay no wages......yet get millions in gate receipts
The get paid by the national broadcaster RTE
They get paid by Sky TV
The have a sponsorship with Guinness woth a fortune.
And they pay no one of a select few on a board of directors.
Corrupt could not even begin to describe these people.
Like the bdo they have fans that dont care and buy the bullshit they peddle

They have a lovely nice stadium out of it though. Well, maybe three sides of it anyway.

Just out of interest, is football run similar to the hurling, or is it still based on the four provincial champions getting to the semis?

football has strong teams in each province so its more likely of 4 provinces in the semis but does not always work out that way.

There is only a handful of counties that have both a decent football and hurling team
In fact only 2 counties have ever won the double both football and hurling in the same year

Tipperary 1895, and 1900
and Cork 1890 and 1990

My local GAA club win the county, munster and all ireland club championships this year.......thousands of clubs enter.
Needless to say I was disgusted
