Common knowledge Bruce Buck & stretford met more than once in the summer. Can't imagine those two have much else in common.
Rooney thought united would take the money, but the clusterfuck of a transfer window meant that was unlikely. When united couldn't buy who they wanted to replace him, the deal was dead. Then they got him 4 months later.
As for the terms of the deal, as I understand it, the extra money will come from sponsorship, connected to performance & media. So it will be up to him how much he makes.
More of those deals will become commonplace, I would imagine.
