Tickets are still quite reasonable, in fairness. Price frozen for 3 straight years.Justin Credible wrote:Knots & crosses wrote:rather it was in his pocket than the glazers.Justin Credible wrote:nobody deserves that kind of money, regardless of how brilliant or average they are
rather itwas in the fans pocket by reducing the price of tickets

That maybe be true, but charging ridiculous prices in the first place and then not making them even more ridiculous is no defense.
This applies to all clubs, you know things are fucked up when my flights to the UK another country , or my hotel room costs less than a match ticket it puts into prospective how expensive and ridiculous it is that people pay so much money to watched over paid primma donna cunts.

Who should England play instead of him? Rickie Lambert? Grant Holt? *chortle*martin71109 wrote:that's what i thought, but hey ho, man united think he is worth the money!
desperate if you ask me.
Eden Hazard has the 2nd most assists in the PL since the start of 2012-13 season. Who has the most? Rooney. And he's had injuries this season (and was dropped at times last season) so hasn't played every game. 19 assists from 42 games, not bad eh?
The £300,000 a week figure is an exaggeration. I very much doubt he's on that much - certainly not as a basic salary. Where is the desperation? The debt is coming down thanks to some generous sponsorship deals. United do not need to sell.
Rooney is England's highest ever goalscorer in competitive matches, and at 28 I'm sure he'll put considerable distance between himself and 2nd place (Owen or Lineker I assume?). His overall record for England isn't so great, but take away meaningless friendlies and it's a lot more impressive.
He has 151 goals and 85 assists for United from 300 league games (276 starts).
And for someone to suggest that Mata was a Chelsea reject is laughable given that he was their player of the year twice in a row. He was right up there, or perhaps even better than Hazard when they played in the same team.
Mata's Chelsea record 2011-13: 118 appearances (102 starts): 32 goals, 48 assists
PL only: 69 appearances (60 starts): 18 goals, 25 assists
Add the 5 United appearances, and you get 32 goals and 51 assists from 107 starts. He was Chelsea's BEST player for the last two seasons (even the dumb Chavski fans could see that as they voted him player of the year both times), and only Hazard can match him. Oscar doesn't even come close.
As for Spurs. Soldado has scored fewer goals than van Persie, Rooney and even Welbeck! Great signing that was. In terms of assists this season, Rooney is 2nd only to Suarez with 9. No Spurs player has more than 4 assists (Adebayor, Eriksen, Walker and Soldado).

Re: 300k a week for rooney
the problem is mt that rooney makes the team suffer as everything has to go through him it seems and that doesnt work
hes holding england back
and why are you likening spurs players mt as we know for a fact that none of the attacking spurs players have played half as many games as rooney

Soldado has played 23 league games (6 goals and 4 assists).
Rooney has played 22 league games (10 goals and 9 assists).
And I just can't accept the England argument, because even though England are over-reliant on him, they simply have no other choice. Who is the alternative?

why not have sturridge up front alone with 2 wingers either side
then in the middle gerrard supplying them with balls to un on to

Soldado 3 as sub, Rooney 2.Noisycrowds wrote:how many of them games were as sub

And yes, Adebayor's record is fantastic, almost a goal a game. Sherwood did right bringing him back into the fold. But I think he'll revert to type (i.e. lazy) soon enough.
You could do that. I would prefer Sturridge up front alone with Rooney, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lennon just behind. Two defensive mids (Gerrard and Henderson/Carrick), and then Johnson, Cahill, Smalling/Dawson and Baines in defence. Unfortunately, Hart will have to play as GK as there is nobody else.Noisycrowds wrote:sorry forgot to add

Re: 300k a week for rooney
Ox and Lennon are both useful because of their pace. Ox put the fear of god into Brazil when they met at the Maracana last year. Lennon is certainly better than Sterling and Townsend. Still remember Lennon against Portugal in the 06 world cup, he looked amazing and really worried the Portuguese defence. Probably should have been chosen over Beckham from the start.Noisycrowds wrote:dont think lennon is going to be used and cant understand why
