How important is the club chairman?

He's been widely credited with Southampton's revival, but would him leaving cause a massive problem even if the manager goes with him?

Re: How important is the club chairman?
A wealthy chairman prepared to invest and allow the football people to take care of football matters is invaluable. When they start getting involved themselves is when it falls apart
When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

Re: How important is the club chairman?
he is important to the manager, considering he decided whether to sack him or not.
Important to the fans should he decide to sell their traditional home to move to some fucking horrible white elephant like the olympic stadium

Re: How important is the club chairman?
two ways of looking at it.
From an intelligent persons view or that of a biased supporter.
putting club loyalty and the love for the game which becomes more of a joke each year and soon will become as physical as ballet but with less poise, chairman dont give a shit,
why should they, its their club to do with as they see fit, fuck the supporters, insignificant stupid common scum who have nothing in their lives and the results of 11 over paid assholes determine their happiness, the chairman can do as he pleases fuck the fans.
The second view point is that of the average supporter who thinks because he attends matches and stupidly states "we" when speaking of the football club he loves it gives him sort sort of right to dictate to the owner or chairman, I can understand passion, loyalty, history etc, but cannot accept stupidity from people.
I am a west ham supprters who traditionally and up to 25 years ago had the least number og managers in the history of football, something like 8 in a 90 years, they had as many in the last decade and a half, its the way of things now, so people need to accept it like sheep and move on or stop supporting the club if you dont like it, at the end of the day the chairman will win, and rightly so as its HIS or HER club.

It is a fine line. I refer to Liverpool as "we" mostly out of habit, never really thought of the connotations of doing so. Fans have the right to complain like any customer does.
