It's a brilliant format for sheer entertainment and a total spectacle for those who would never watch a thirty odd frame match. Was it you suggested this could transfer to darts with the top 128 involved in best of three shoot outs?

Would certainly work

It's a no brainer, really can't work out why they haven't done it yet. ITV requested an event and got the Masters, why they didn't suggest a quick shootout involving all 128 players is beyond me.

Adds an instant value to winning a tour card and if any of them don't want to play in it you simply go down the reserve list.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Held at the iconic home of darts Ally Pally with a totally open draw would be a huge sell out

Totally different type of event mate which would deserve a premium venue. Crucible would be irony but way too small

All he had to do was run the clock down to 1 and then just tap the red against the cushion. Why he played that shot, fuck knows.
Holt would never have potted red and then a colour in the couple of seconds left.

Are you asking what the highest possible break possible is in this format or what the highest break has been so far this week?

If the latter - 96
If the former - you thick cunt!

I meant the latter!
Wondered if anyone had made big centuries in this or other years. First I'm really seeing of it.

Yeah there have been a few centuries in the past. Dott got the 96 last match last night and missed the blue to make it 101.

Highest break is only 147 as free ball rule doesn't apply in this event, all fouls mean ball in hand so no opportunity to get a 155.

Ginge, if there was a one-legged 501 darts match, what would be the fewest darts you could win the leg with?

It has its place as something different. Gives plenty of players a chance to make a name for themselves.

Harmless entertainment.
Nothing to really get your teeth into though.

Saw a couple of low scoring games earlier, what happens is scores are tied?
