Re: snooker thread
In the bbc article it says he is looking at running events behind closed doors.
Odd he has shut down darts events that are like that.

Probably because a) foreign players now cant get to them, and b) its over 100 people.Randall wrote:In the bbc article it says he is looking at running events behind closed doors.

Suspect he is looking into very small field non-ranking events for the bookies with British based players only involved.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Re: snooker thread
Each player can also sign in a number of guests so the numbers rise way higher than the initial 128. Then there's officials, staff and venue staff etc which make the numbers rise higherThe Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 1:14 pmProbably because a) foreign players now cant get to them, and b) its over 100 people.Randall wrote:In the bbc article it says he is looking at running events behind closed doors.

When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

Re: snooker thread
As today should have been the start of the World's, BBC Two are showing old Crucible matches every day until the 4th of May.
The only Mervert in town.

Re: snooker thread
Live snooker returns tomorrow, on ITV4.
A non-ranking event behind closed doors in Milton Keynes. Loads of hand sanitiser and absolutely no foreigners. Sport as it should be.
Let us know how it goes if you watch some of it.

Re: snooker thread
Snooker without the relentless coughing in the background sounds pretty good to me. Crucible fortnight is surely responsible for a spike in something or other most years.
Nice one. Let's hope it goes well. I'm sure darts won't be far behind.

Re: snooker thread
Not had it on yet but its probably the device they use to update the scores around the table for the players, they use them in the qualifying events.ILAD wrote:What’s that thing the ref has in his hand?
Given they want as few people there as possible they wont want someone sat there just to update the monitors when the refs are used to doing it themselves anyway away from the TV events.

Re: snooker thread
So they must not be using someone behind the camera who used to help the ref reposition the balls after a foul? Dunno if that person was also a ref.The Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 4:01 pmNot had it on yet but its probably the device they use to update the scores around the table for the players, they use them in the qualifying events.ILAD wrote:What’s that thing the ref has in his hand?

Re: snooker thread
No idea, not had it on to check. If its exactly the same as the setup they use for floor qualifying it is literally the 2 players and the ref and that is it. Cameras are remote. They may have gone to the luxury of an actual person to operate a camera this time, not sure.ILAD wrote:So they must not be using someone behind the camera who used to help the ref reposition the balls after a foul?
