Even England can't lose this.
Couple of decent batting sessions should put this out of reach, but I don't think we would declare today if we still have wickets in hand.
Tomorrow lunchtime would probably be about right, but Root seems to be similar to cook, where he bats on for an hour or two too long.
That is assuming we don't get bowled out of course

Can't see the need for more than another hundred to be totally safe

Agree, but I can't see us declaring today.. Bishop and Ward were just having this discussion on comms,
Seems like five sessions to get windies out was agreed on..
I would like to see us be more aggressive today, with Buttler, Stokes and Barstow to up the run rate and get to 400+ ahead before close of play..

Strauss, Cook and now Root are and were very negative captains when it came to declaring.

Great piece about the judge during the lunch break.

What are the chances of a declaration at start of play?

Soon be over

Batting first thing was pointless and looked nothing more than a Root vanity exercise. The should really have put the Windies in half an hour before close last night.

As prep for the Ashes, totally worthless

With the series won the Windies intensity is missing in action.

Not only that mate, there's a reason they're so low in the rankings

We've made a very ordinary side look like world beaters.

Innings could take a while if Gayle keeps hitting it out of the ground.

Windies bottom of the one day rankings threatening a 400 plus score against the top ranking side!

They are going to run out of balls at this rate.

Scotland result earlier was absolutely hilarious. They were 1/13 to win.

Maybe it's just me but I far preferred the attritional test matches where it was a contest between bat and ball than this wham bam thank you man stuff.
