How in this reality can Flintoff best Botham?
Botham was past his best by the time I was watching cricket. As were Imran Khan and Richard Hadlee.

(So was Greenidge too I suppose, but it's not an exact science.)

Wasim Akram was my 2nd pick for number 7, and had a better overall record than Flintoff. The 2005 Ashes obviously played a big part in my opinion of Freddie.

England v West Indies starts this morning, although I fear it will be raining bitterly.

There will even be highlights (of the rain) on BBC2 each night, the first test cricket on BBC tv since 1998.

Why the fuck did England choose to bat with lineup in these conditions?

Going to be a short and depressing afternoon.

Agree, win the toss and bat first on that pitch. Mental

England's most inexperienced top 4 since the ashes of 89 when we had curtis, moxon and Atherton and smith at the start of their careers

Fully expect Windies to be about 8 down by the end of play as well.

A joke.

Weather's due to improve tomorrow so it's there for the Windies if they get through the final session

The decision not to give Crawley out was particularly awful

Granted in years gone by decisions went unchecked but I'm sure Dickie was better than this.
