Hagler v Mugabi was a cracker and Hagler v Duran wasn’t bad either. I see a bit of Leicester bias with Sibbo

Both their fights won British fight of the year awards. The first one was a real cracker.Randall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:17 pmDoesn't ring any bellsHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:15 pm I’ll tell you a great fight which you may or may not have seen and for any boxing fan, check it out

Actually AJ v Klitschko was a great fight and won the prestigious Ring magazine fight of the year.
Another classic was Ward v Gatti

I remember mcauley but his fights are a blank. I followed boxing pretty intensely up to probably 96 then drifted away.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:29 pmBoth their fights won British fight of the year awards. In all truth I prefer watching the likes of Dempsey, johnson, marciano from years gone by

Of course Arum going to indulge in hyperbole, he will have to promote Fury again down the road. It's only common sense.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:18 pm Oh dear, for someone who is a boxing fan, that’s a pretty stupid answer.

Re: Boxing
Nah, it will go down in history. I’ve just rewatched the highlights and I doubt Wilder will be the same fighter ( as in punch resistance) as he took a hell of a lot of shots.
AJ v Wilder would be interesting. AJ would run for 12 rounds bit if he got caught it’s fight over.

My point is that it is in Arum's best interests to hype it up.

It would be a very interesting chess match.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:30 pmI can’t see it myself. Fury is too big and unlike AJ has a high boxing IQ he would use his size to his advantage. Fury and Usyk are my two favourite active boxers, but stylistically I think it would make for a poor fight.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:13 pm It was a classic fight.
I genuinely think Usyk has decent chance of beating Fury.
I think Usyk could knick it on points. He has superb cardio and is very adaptable.

Re: Boxing
Exactly.
I admit that Fury is far better on the inside than Joshua. Joshua's clinch game has always been sub-par.

If anyone has the footwork and skills to do so at HW, it's Usyk.Randall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:20 pmClearly usyk has to be get inside and keep his arms free to attack furys body and bring his arms down before he can land with uppercutssennafan24 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:10 pmExactly.

Amazing how wrong he managed to get his tactics.
A right hand and not much else
