Re: tennis thread
Can't see it but it is certainly possible if Federer slips back into his R1 and R2 form.

Re: tennis thread
It's definitely in the transition phase.
Nadal is only number one because of others' injuries.
Murray only ever reached one because at the time both Federer and Nadal who would have take the top spot were both injured to an extent.
Even Djokovic has been injured since Wimbledon last year.
I still maintain he did so well due to Nadal's injuries.

Re: tennis thread
Djokovic has a winning head to head against Nadal, Nadal has pretty much owned Federer, Federer has had Murray number, Murray has won his slams against djokovic.
It's an odd conundrum.

Re: tennis thread
Shame to see my favourite player is feeling unwell again. Normally its with injuries, now it seems Del Potro is sick today.

Re: tennis thread
Nadal's problem is that he is just not good enough on hard courts. Just looking up some stats, he is 23-14 against Federer and a brave few are clay court finals. That's probably why Djokovic does well against Nadal, he's pretty mean on a hard court.

I think most of his hard court losses are indoors.Chizzyfan wrote:Nadal's problem is that he is just not good enough on hard courts. You take away weather conditions and decrease air resistance Federer can hit through him.

Re: tennis thread
Says enough, as Thiem is not a hardcourt-player. Hopefully Del Potro can get back.

At two sets down it seemed an unlikely win!The Ginge Reaper wrote:How did this go?Randall wrote:Thiem is raping del potro, ffs.

If it was a fast court he may hit through Federer but these seem quite slow.
The court may favour Nadal in the semi, different to the one in Oz in January.

Re: tennis thread
His game didn't look overly special from what I saw.
I still fancy the winner of Anderson/querry to make final.

Anderson beats querry.
A career defining loss for querry in his own country.
