It makes sense, of course, although at 24 years old he doesn't have much of a career behind him..Justin Credible wrote:guess a kid with good prospects and the euro league the way to give him experience, no different to a homegrown youth player i guess
Spurs are not really the main offenders here. I just wish that the foreign players who did come over were full internationals or extremely talented youngsters. Not 24 year olds that have never played for their country.
I don't blame foreigners for England/Wales/Scotland/Ireland doing badly, but imagine being a 17 year old British or Irish creative midfielder at Chelsea? How are you supposed to be better than Oscar, Fabregas and Hazard when they are several years older and among the best in Europe? Because that's the only way you can break into their first team.
Of course I've just contradicted myself because I have no problem with world class players being here. But it's not fair to ask for a teenager to be better than the players I mentioned above when they don't have any experience and are just starting out in the professional game. No teenager in the world is better than those three players right now.
Yet everyone has to start somewhere. And it's even more lamentable when clubs sign second or third-rate foreigners at the expense of British or Irish players who are definitely no worse.
