Czech president, chain smoker, approves smoking ban in bars

Good riddance, it stinks up everything. Even the Czech Republic is frowning upon public smoking these days.
As a reformed 3 pack a day cigarette smoker, I know about the non-smoker evil eye. I can honestly say I haven't smoked anything with a tax and/or filter in over 10 years.
PRAGUE — President Milos Zeman has put to an end the Czech Republic’s status of one of the last havens for tobacco smokers in Europe.
Zeman, a chain smoker, signed into law on Tuesday a smoking ban in bars, restaurants and cafes after it was approved by both houses of Parliament.
It becomes effective on May 31, which is World No Tobacco Day.
Movie theaters, concert venues, exhibition halls and indoor sports settings would be banned from having separate rooms for smokers.
Unlike most of Europe, Czechs have remained tolerant of smoking. Right now it is up to restaurant owners to decide whether to allow or ban it.

Ireland was the first country to bring in the smoking ban and kill the pubs.
A nation of pissheads knew it was a bad idea to bring it in, but the selfish publicans did not give a fuck and now not hundreds, but thousands of pubs have since closed down.
I hope publicans lose everything for stabbing their customers in the back

At least seven pubs a day are closing I believe while the discount pubs like Wetherspoons continue to grow. The smoking ban and prices like £4 or more a pint have killed what I'd call proper pubsNoisycrowds wrote:lots of pubs closing or losing profit around here as well
When you actually feel anger over a place like this it's time to get a life

Also have to add the supermarkets are virtually giving beer away so more people are drinking indoors than ever.
