Not exactly random daily crap, but unsure where else to put it, but I lost my last living grand parent today. It was expected, and she was in her 90s, but its never easy once it becomes real.

Lost all mine and my father, it does get better with time, as much as it's a cliche.

I am not sure I would say that it gets better. What I would say is that one gets used to the person not being there anymore.

I remember when my brother was killed in a car accident someone said it would get better and easier with time and for a long time it didn't but what I did learn was how to love with it and adapt to him not being there anymore.

Then when my other brother dropped dead with cardiomyopathy I experienced the same but was armed with the knowledge that with time, one learns to adapt.

The mental adjustment becomes easier, you can remember the good times and not be consumed by grief which at the moment for gravy will be the overwhelming feeling.
It's the little things that still get me, was watching a TV show yesterday and my dad's favourite piece of music was played. Doesn't take much to bring it back.

Yes absolutely. Lost both mine within one hundred days of each other over five years ago. Still miss them terribly but smile often with random memories.
