Hope the hospital staff were nice while you were admitted?!?

I've seen what goes on in there. I'll be on my death bed before I allow myself to be admitted :D

Sleep and fluids mate. If it's proper flu you'll feel like shit for over a week but if it's a cold you'll start feeling better after three days or so.

Sweating's good as well mate but it will make you both stink!

I've never gone to bed with a cold but two years back when I got the Piggy Flu I couldn't lift my head off the pillow. Didn't eat, smoke or have any beer, and missed most of Lakeside!

Speaking of the Olympics, I was at work today and got called to speak to a customer. When I walked out, I saw it was my mate. He's a tv cameraman for Sky Sports and was telling me he'd been seconded to work for the Olympic Broadcasting Service (I know this is true because he was wearing an OBS 2012 jacket) and had spent the Olympics working on the fucking beach volleyball!!! If it had been me, I'd have ended up doing the fucking weightlifting or Greco-roman wrestling :(

Yeah nah, I got two flu jabs this year, the common one for whatever strain they expect to hit, and the one the doctors and nurses get at the hospitals (due to me being a risk case - Diabetic).
So what happened, I got the flu and was off work for 5 days, 3 of them in bed. I still have a cough, 6 weeks later.

Good knows how bad I would have felt if I hadn't had the jabs, they say it less'ens the effects ! I was just drained of energy, fever, couldn't eat and got a cough, that has stayed but is slowly getting less and less.

I now work in a 4 story building, most of the building is occupied by Air New Zealand, there's probably 350 people working there. The air conditioning system is a common one. It seems when one person brings the flu to work the whole building is ravaged by it within days, and the people with a defence etc who hold of catching it generally delay the inevitable and get it in the end as you just can't avoid people. Some people have no sick leave left, so come to work and spread the flu around, they just can't afford to be off work. Some chick sneezed on me in the lift, right in my face, I almost felt the spray ! She said sorry....three days later I was as sick as a doG.

since ye both are dying ye should be sleeping together and both of ye sweat it out.

I take it you tried all the usual stuff, of hot red lemonade, honey, lemsips etc
