I play very small stakes, usually turbo up to 10 games a week. Still playing off my first deposit back from the DF days.

Re: The Darts Forum 'Discuss all things Poker' Thread
I've just had a break for the same reason. I do wonder about PS these days, I've never been one of the conspiracy boys but the last few games have made me think. My first game back on Saturday night, I had $12.50 in my account so decided I'd play 5x $2.50 180 player tables back to back to see me through the night. Just about went perfectly (don't think I lost a significant hand at any point) and I won it, didn't bother playing again until last night. Went on the 45 player comps and the first one I played went horribly wrong after 3 hands I was down to $6 ...... 40 minutes later I was chip leader of 11 remaining players (finished 4th). Won six hands on the spin from the $6 point, the last one being my Ad7h against AhAs ..... 8h9hThJhAc. Obviously I was pretty happy about it at the time but now it just seems unbelievable and made me think "What's the point in playing properly when that kind of shit can happen?"
I've noticed that there are alot more hits on the river in these smaller turbo tournies than there are in the BIGs. Maybe it seems that way because there are more fish playing in them and the fish don't seem to last in the BIGs, fuck knows.
Btw Sprocket I'm still using that $20 you told me how to get at Xmas and I've drawn out 4 figures over the last 3 months so cheers.

Like Snake, I was never one for believing all the conspiracy theories about online poker but the last six months have to make you wonder.
In my last three days playing, I saw this sort of thing happen 5 times.
All in preflop (surprise surprise). All in has something like AK.
Called by 3,7 off suit. Flop 4,5,6
Note, not making the straight on the turn or river but actually flopping it.
I saw that happen five times in three days.
Add to this that I just cannot beat the influx of eastern-europeans and it all became a very frustrating experience rather than fun and enjoyable.

The one thing that makes me think it is just random is that there can't be any benefit to the site unless they are letting their own bots win, if things like that are happening it surely discourages people from playing, it seems to have done in both our cases. Although I have noticed that the larger stack seem to win a high proportion of showdowns which I suppose speeds the games up.

This is because short stacks are pushed into playing marginal holdings, with the bigger stacks sometimes priced into calling with any 2 rags

That explains why the showdown occurs but doesn't explain why the big stack seems to win with his "2 rags"...........Dicie wrote:Snakehipsx2 wrote:The one thing that makes me think it is just random is that there can't be any benefit to the site unless they are letting their own bots win, if things like that are happening it surely discourages people from playing, it seems to have done in both our cases.
