What are people's thoughts on going for the bull when your opponent is not on a finish. Or should you just set it up?

It's not. I've never seen anyone suggest it's negative. There is a right shot. If you don't go for the bull, you increase your chances of winning the leg. That's all that matters. You wouldn't want to deliberately put yourself in a worse situation.
