What defines 180 in a practice session?
I was practicing darts on my own, going for triple 20s.
I missed with two darts and then decided to slightly change my grip, and the third dart went into the triple 20.
For whatever reason I chose to leave that dart in the triple twenty and collected the other two darts that missed to practice the same grip that I just changed to and Those two darts both then went into the triple 20 too.
I am not saying this counts as a 180, I have gotten a few of those recently in one standard turn, but I started wondering the how close this was, and how It differs from a standard 180 as the factor of a dart Not taking up space in T20 doesn’t apply here as the dart was left in.
Any thoughts or knowledge of rules that should be considered?

I mean there are no real rules if you arnt playing against anyone, its for personal betterment and all. I would say you got three darts in a row into the T20 which is what matters in the end.

Once in a practice session I hiit 2 60s and the 3rd 1 aimed at the treble went in tops.
I certainly counted it as a 160 check!

Re: What defines 180 in a practice session?
Some rules relevant to throwing I found:
"A throw shall consist of a maximum of three darts thrown consecutively (without interruption for any throw by any other player) by a Player unless a leg, set or match is completed in less than three darts thrown by that player".
"If a player physically touches any dart which is in the dartboard during a throw, then that throw shall be deemed to have been completed".
So I definitely used 2 "throws" or "turns" but is that any less difficult than doing it in one turn if the darts are consecutive and left in the board across turns?

If I hit 60 last dart of 1 visit and 2 with the 1st 2 the next visit it's still 3 perfect darts in a row

Well in that case you could argue that one of the darts in your second visit went into the exact same spot as your T20 in the first visit.
By removing the dart it can't block the next two darts from going in which is normally a significant factor in getting 180 in one visit.
In my case, I left that third dart in T20 on the first visit.

And they usually did.

It's not a 180. Just as a 9 darter is not a 141 after any 2 random 180s.

Dartsnewbie sounds like a right cheating cunt, will keep chucking until the double goes in without acknowledging any missed darts.

Not what I meant, I was on about consecutive throws. If you're practicing 180s and hit them back to back, you can't just go for the 141 next turn and claim you've hit a 9 darter. And hitting the T20 three times in a row is not a 180, regardless of whether you left the dart in the board or not.DartsNewbie wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:28 amWell that’s not the same. In that case other throws / darts have taken place in between the 180s and 141. Here, 3 darts were thrown consecutively.

I'm with bob on this one, ffs an absolutely retarded post. Makes Oche look like a fucking genius.
180 is simply 3 darts in treble 20 in a single turn, nothing else, nothing more and for the love of god nothing less. Don't make it so complicated.
Serious question are you an American? this sounds exactly like the shit that use to come up on the American darts forum.

I said from the start it doesn’t count
I’m asking what’s different compared to a standard ‘180’.
What would you say if you go round your mates and can only find 5 darts so you pick them up and miss T20 with the first two then hit T20 with the next 3. All 5 darts thrown in one go.

Got me thinking that on the last dart of the first “turn” a 180 was no longer possible so there was less ‘pressure’ in a sense to hit T20 which isn’t the case on a new turn with 3 darts when going for 180. So yeah it wasn’t the same as a 180 in 1 turn.
Got there in the end then - at least someone was able to explain

Here is what I would say. If my mate only had 5 darts then be is an idiot for losing a darts. 15 years I have never lost a dart.DartsNewbie wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 3:16 am

If he was expecting to play darts with 5 darts a turn he would get kicked in the nuts for being a fucktard. If he was making up some stupid game for 5 darts then he would again be kicked in the nuts for being a fucktard.
If he said I hit 180 I would kick him in the nuts for being a fucktard. Unless my first two darts went off the board I scored more than 180. I would then kick my self in the nuts for actually throwing 5 darts in a turn.
In short.. he wouldn't be my mate because I cant stand idiots.
