Brass darts

Hi everyone,
This may sound like a silly question but I'm going to ask it anywhere.
I prefer a larger barrel on my 19g darts as I seem to be able to grip them better. I keep reading everywhere that tungsten darts are the best as they have a thinner barrel which makes grouping easier. But if I prefer the wider barrel which I have on my brass darts then is there actually any advantage to me changing to tungsten darts as i would still want the wider barrel so wont make grouping any easier for me? Wont a 19g tungsten dart have a thin barrel?
Any help would be appreciated.

I think it's weird for most people when they switch from brass to tungsten. It was unusual to me too when I first tried a tungsten dart. But it's a transition that's worth to make. In the long run you'll get accustomed to the tungsten ones. When you become a better player and group your darts better, brass darts become a huge disadvantage. Maybe try to experiment with heavier tungsten darts that are a bit chunkier?

Ok I'm going to be nice as this appears to be a genuine request. Thorn has given some good advice.
Let
me add my 2 pence. A good player can throw anything and win, darts selection is what is comfortable for you. Not thinking about your darts when you throw matters. If it is comfortable in your hand and mind you won't think about it, that is what you want. That said tungsten provides a heavier dart with less material. Heavier darts as rule of thumb is a good way to start for novice or amateurs. Unless your strike is consistent and like butter,a lighter dart may be better. You can find tungsten darts that feel chunky in the hand. They tend to be shorter barrels, things like Lowe or Taylors are one e.g. A little longer are things like Barneys darts from unicorn. Thinner than brass but feel thick.

2 things I would advise, 1 throw other peoples darts to find what you like as far as feel, grip, barrel length etc. 2 go to reddit darts talk give a picture of your current darts. Those fucks buy about half the darts sold in a year across the globe. They can help you find a dart like what you have in tungsten.

Should you switch from brass? Who knows, I played in one of the biggest events in the USA and for beat like a rental mule by a player throwing some crappy brass plastic darts from the bar. Watched him beat even better players than me and a few that would be considered pros in USA. So it is more about the throw than the darts. Good luck and let us know what you decide and for it works out.
