New app for LEARNING all CHECKOUTS by heart! Checkout Mind

Dear Darts Fans,

together with my buddies I started playing darts about 2 years ago - most of the time Cricket and Split Score. Whenever we play a normal 501, I realize the big problems we all have with calculating, especially when it's about to check out the remaining score.

I was looking for an app with which you can learn these checkouts, but couldn't find any. So I decided to teach me app programming and to develope an app on my own. It took me several months but finally I'm happy to announce that Checkout Mind is now availabe for download in the Google Play Store.

The Idea of the app is simple: Like in real darts, you'll be put in a finish situation where need to find the right targets to checkout some score. The situations that you face are randomly chosen among the situations that you want to practice. Sometimes a dart misses its target and with a running countdown aside you learn to quickly calculate how to clear a certain score. After each attempt, the app displays recommended checkout options such that you can learn all 2- and 3-dart finishes by heart.

The app is online since Sunday. If you are interested, you can download the free version or get an idea about the functionalities on my website.

I'm looking forward to your feedback and suggestions for improvements from the darts community.

Being able to count helps.

Could anyone imagine playing and having to wait till your opponent gets a phone out to see how to attempt a finish

Anyone that has ever played is generally fine with checkouts surely.
More of an issue is the set up from 250 etc down

Just go for the T20 until I'm below 60 or so. Won't hit anything anyway

I'm looking forward to your feedback and suggestions for improvements from the darts community.

Here is where I know your full of shit. For years now darting apps have had suggested co's. Every fucking one I can remember using had one. So either you didn't look which makes you a lying sack of shit or your so fucking useless using technology I wouldn't trust you to code a simple 2 + 2 calculation.

My suggestion for improving your app is to cram it in your hole till you pass out from blood loss.
If your so fucking useless that you need a phone to tell you what you have left or do any maths for you, you need to have your phone smashed down your throat till you stop breathing. Because your never going to learn it that way.

Be ok if you were playing Justin Shite..
You would have time to count out Matchsticks for your checkout before he has thrown his second dart

Then your opponent misses the first dart and looks up what's left!

Wow, thanks for all the positive and helpful feedback 😁

I think the app is a good help for beginners to learn the checkouts, so that you know them when actually playing and don’t need a checkout card or app to look them up.

But okay, it’s good to know that apparently none of you shares that opinion.

Stopping a game to go on an app to look up finishes you must see that's not practical.

Sure, and this is exactly why one should know the checkouts by heart. Some beginners might want to learn and train them. This is where the app comes into play.

Give it a try and you’ll see that’s it’s not about looking things up during a game. It’s about knowing the checkouts when you need them :)

I think it's just over complicating something very simple.
