Advice

Post by Bully » Thu Dec 29, 2016 3:17 pm

Been playing since i was a teen, nothing major, just practicing on the board at home, anyway, got myself s new set of darts last week and decided to give it a proper go this time, an hour a day practicing. However, i find my throw rather inconsistent, by this i mean, first dart say, hits my target, be it 60 or 57, and my 2nd and 3rd are just crazy. Like the other night i hit a 170, next throw i hit 3!!!

My question is, will consistency come with time and practice??

And is an hour a day enough? If my stance and throw feels comfortable should i stick with it??

Hope to hear replies

The more you practice, the more consistent you will get. One hour a day is more than enough, intensity and quality is more important than quantity. You should probably stick with your natural throw and stance, but you can improve them slightly if you see any flaws in them.

As for the op, it's about finding your own rhythm and what feels comfortable.
Over practice and it becomes a chore. Playing mates is much better.

It's all about priorities, Bully.
you have to get a nifty, tough & bitchin' dart shirt first.
Otherwise you'll need to relearn everything later on when you decide to drop the pedestrian clothes.

Consistency has come on tonight after a couple of hours, still hitting 26's and pulling darts but hit a 140 and a couple of tons, odd treble here and there.

Is it better to practice on scoring well before practicing out shots?

Or vice versa?

Im sure within the stacks of abuse there will be a little advice from someone

Haha

Outshots are the most important to practice, and I think the best way to round off the practice is to play some 501.
