Away match at the pub that used to be my local many years ago and where I first played a league match, still a few people in there that I know.
Hope I can keep up the reasonable form from last week but that the team can win for once !!
Should be a good night but not expecting much from the spread, the quality seems to have dropped across the board since pre-covid days.
Time to start snubbing the footy card or whatever teams use to pay for the food, Once had a situation where without me knowing the rest of the team all said not to pay into the football card at a venue as half went towards food and the last time we played there we got served crisps and stale sandwiches, I was at work until 8pm and arrived at the venue 5 mins before the match was due to start and the bloke selling the footy card squares was next to me at the bar and I just chucked him £2 and said put me on any teams not taken....Team mates all giving it....'Why the fuck did you do that greeny' :D
Cool story mate
Got plenty of them....Over 25 years of playing
Did I tell you about the time I stalked the guy who won the Oxford open?
Please do

We go again tonight, hopefully the opposition won't cancel at the last minute like they did last week.

A 14-7 win for the team but a 0-3 in the singles for yours truly
Before DbG pipes up I'll get n first, I was shite :D

Spread was average but the hot mini pasties were a nice touch.

Was it the fact they served up mini pasties instead of full sized ones that added to your anger?

I think you need to start a 'What did you have for your darts spread?' thread

Just stick to the sarnies your lass puts up for when you get pasted off of ThirstyMatt in the World Bedroom Championships.

Away fixture tonight, hopefully the team can record another win, I'm not expecting to play in the singles after last weeks disaster of a performance but you never know, as always itll be a good night out.

Quite simply the most horrific match I have ever played in last night.
We lost 11-10 after being 10-8 up going into the last singles.
We start at 8.30 ( standard) and the match finished at 11.25
Double start format and in the first leg of the 4-a-side both teams took 30 darts to start and it didn't get a whole lot better after that.
Won my singles 3-0 and played half decent but that was around 10.30 so had lost the will by then.

The Spread.
Also horrific, what looked like a casserole dish full of overcooked meatballs in some kind of sticky sauce. None of us went anywhere near it thankfully. Didn't fancy spending all day today contributing to the eartha thread.
