Heavy darts

Post by ITG » Sat Oct 25, 2014 10:03 pm

I've been chucking some of my old brassers lately and I always seem to play well with them. I don't tend to have as many high scores, mainly because the three of them barely fit in the treble together, but my grouping is a lot more consistent and I don't throw as many stray darts as I do with my normal average weighted tungsten darts.

I've just taken the plunge and bought a couple of cheap sets of 29 and 30g darts, see how things go.

Anyone else use darts with a heavy weight? Don't see any of the pros going beyond around 26. Think Taylor might be one of the few up towards that weight of dart?

cheers mate

got those brass fuckers with an old harrows board i bought in jjb about 11-12 years ago and somehow have managed to hold onto them despite losing complete interest in darts altogether for a good couple of years around the mid 00s.

I throw with 32 grams, and believe it or not my throw is no different to my throw with 21 grams.

there ain't enough of a difference for me to say my game would trouble anyone half decent, but i enjoy having a chuck with these.

i have had fuck all time to play lately and in between the rust of not playing i bought a new set of target darts which i couldn't get used to at all, to the point i was playing so bad it sucked my enjoyment of just having a casual chuck. going back to these darts makes it sort of fun again.

i have a set of peter manley 17gs and it feels like throwing a fucking feather. can aim for a treble 19 and hit the bull ffs
