Points

Post by Broonerchiefs » Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:53 pm

New member here. I'm thinking of freshening things up and gonna treat myself to some new points. My heads telling me to go for longer points but my hearts telling me to stick to what i know. Anyone else had a similar dilema.

Cheers

I'd say stale. Im not the best anyway but any sort of consistency I used to have seems to be on the decline. Probably all in the head.

I've become a fan for Target Storm points. As they help to eliminate the lip at the join between point & barrel. To my mind it could be worth 60 points in a game if it avoids just one bounce out or deflection. I use the 30mm points and get DC to fit them for free when I buy new darts, as the chrome layer has to be removed to get them to fit most barrels. You can do it yourself if you have a dremel with a grinding wheel.

Yeah I had a look at the storm points but I also considered the trident cones. Tweaking is a mare but I dont learn.

I'll be sending them away to get done. Reduces the risk of being left with scrap metal.

As the site "pro" here, I could do with a little more background info.

What level do you play at Brooner, what barrel/points are you using at the moment?

Haha. I currently play at no level but there's 5 of my mates and me who play quite regular. We are all of the same standard so its good banter. 12-24 darts from 301 (mince but love it) play with 23g stock boxers

As long as they are throwing straight mate, I'd stick with them.

Practice, practice and more practice. Think there are some practice routines knocking about in Toe the Oche from our former pro darter. If you can't find them give me a shout and I'll see if I can find them. Maybe reintroduce it as forum practice session with bragging rights.
