The brag thread

Post by welsh » Thu May 05, 2011 9:16 pm

Thought i'd be the first to start a thread here as some of you might know i couldn't hit a ton plus finish for love or money for nearly four months and now thier coming thick and fast with the latest two coming lastnight with a 120 and 136 so i,m chuffed to bits at the moment with me darts.

Good news, yay you. If I could hit a ton plus SCORE it would be nice. Not played for weeks though, this will change.

I hit a 145 against Knots on tuesday and wired the D19 for a 158 two legs later. Dart 'The Power' Frog.

I'm still mildly impressed with my 174.

Last few days at home pounding the board gave me several 140s and another elusive 180.

The 180 was at the start of a leg. I got 5 darts into a 9 darter. The Shanked the 6th into single 1.

Lost the leg too.

A brag that turned into despair.

Playing a practice against my brother game and went 180, 180, 60, 45, 36 right in the middle! GET IN....or so I thought!...after stopping my celebration and going to retrieve the darts noticed that the treble 15 was actually in the treble 10! Gutted isn't the word!

Something stupid like 16 or 17 in the end as I was shaking like a leaf!

I have hit a few 10 darters in my time but they have all been on the bull, never had a legit dart for the 9 yet.

Another semi-brag I guess was I got down to a finish against Taylor and had a shot at 148 to beat him. The 1st 60 went in but the 2nd darts landed just below the wire. I think he had seen enough by that point and duly put me out of misery next dart!

Good effort though. And Alan Soapy Soutar is the Scot's lad is he not? another good effort that an all.
My best is an 11 darter (not on the bull). Have'nt been close to ever hitting a 9 darter.

I'm f**king gorgeous. Oh sorry, is this supposed to be a brag about darts?
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'

That's the guy yeah. Good player and a decent guy as well too. Very up and down match from what I remember. He went 2-0 up and then i got back to 2 all and missed tops to steal the first set. The next set I had him by the balls and should have won it 3-0. He came back like a train and took out 124 in the 5th leg on the bull after id missed 95 on the bull myself and that was that.

Great experience playing in the event but I was never realisticly gonna get through. On our qualifying board alone we had Dave Chisnell, Dave Prins, Alan Souter, Nigel Heydon, Antonio Alcinas amongst others. It was the year Chisnell 1st qualified for Lakeside and he really shouldnt have as Heydon should have took him out.

Lasting memories of the weekend too were taking a few legs of Robert Wagner in a random pub the night before the event and queing up in a kebab shop with a VERY pissed up Phil Nixon. Glamour all the way! hehe
